You Will Be Responsible For:   
  • Provides leadership oversight and manage Cerner CPA/Subject Matter Expert (SME) team keeping informed of any problematic issues relating to this area of responsibility.
  • Provides leadership support, guidance and efforts to develop, plan, implement and support the electronic health record, patient accounting system, and all other systems in support of the Revenue Cycle team.
  • Provides guidance to teams to develop, plan, implement and support project initiatives as related to the Revenue Cycle team.
  • System-wide collaboration with Hospital Administration, clinical departments, and other related areas such as RC Program Management Office, RC Operations, Financial Integrity, and Adventist Information Systems to support Revenue Cycle projects and strategies.
  • Proactively work with team members throughout the hospital revenue cycle during project implementation to ensure workflow is designed and built according to specifications

What Will You Need:        


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, health care or related field


  • Minimum ten years in Patient Access/Patient Financial Services department or related area
  • At least 5 years of management and/or leadership experience
Education Preferred:
  • Master’s degree in business, healthcare, or related field
Experience Preferred:
  • Experience with healthcare quality/performance/process improvement
  • Previous hospital IT experience to include Electronic Medical Record or Patient Accounting Systems experience
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Preferred:
  • Prosci Certified Change Management Practitioner
Job Summary:

The Senior Manager Cerner Patient Accounting (CPA) – Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) is responsible for leading and managing all CPA SME teams’ activities. This oversight is in support of Revenue Cycle(RC) Operations departments CPA implementation initiatives. The Senior Manager Cerner Patient Accounting (CPA) – Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) will serve as lead subject matter expert and use past experiences to lead the team through all phases of the CPA project initiative. This role will also facilitate and utilize effective communication channels and change management techniques to coordinate and manage the CPA SME teams’ scope of work. The Senior Manager Cerner Patient Accounting (CPA) – Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) will leverage solid technical expertise and understanding of systems and processes to collaborate with Information Technology (IT) leaders, RC leaders and functional area management.  Through effective leadership, proactively work with team members during the implementation to ensure workflow is designed and built according to specifications. Lead the integration of people, process and technology to support operations CPA initiatives and produce sustainable results while identifying opportunities for process improvement in support of strategic initiatives as they pertain to Revenue Cycle business systems and implementations.   Adheres to the AdventHealth corporate compliance plan and to all rules and regulations of applicable local, state, federal agencies and accrediting bodies governing the practice of Health information.
