You Will Be Responsible For:

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:

•    Develops and implements operational plans to support the Institute COO/CMO dyad leaders and the senior leadership team.

•    Facilitates strategic plan development, implementation, and deployment of projects for the Institutes across the eight-county Central Florida Division.

•    Plans and develops agenda for key Institute meetings (e.g. Dyad Council, Retreats, etc.) by collaborating with members of all five Institutes and ACS/IHS leaders to synthesize and prioritize agenda items.

•    Contributes research and data analytics as the senior leadership team reviews and provides input on strategies and innovations – leads projects under the direction of the COO/CMO.

•    Tracks all commitments and project task work that are made during executive leadership meetings or project meetings and provides progress reports and updates to the COO/CMO.

•    Oversees the preparation of written briefs on decisions for the COO/CMO and senior leadership team including analyzing the pros and cons of options and business impact (cost, profits, people, culture).

•    Collaborates with senior leaders on the development of proposals that will meet the COO/CMO’s expectations and standards.

•    Serves as a conduit of information and communication from the office of the COO/CMO to senior leaders and departments. Develops communication strategies for major initiatives and serves as the communications project leader when the message is from the COO/CMO office.

•    Collaborates with the respective senior leader(s) within the Acute Care Services or Integrated Health Services business unit including the Outpatient Network (e.g. AHMG, Centra Care, Home Health and other ancillary business divisions) to align and integrate systems; and structures to drive performance; and enhance the AdventHealth Culture.

•    May work with multiple operational areas/teams as a performance improvement/excellence advisor as well as drives specific initiatives across the organization as needed.

 
 
OPERATING & CAPITAL BUDGET/FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY:

•    Supports the COO/CMO in completion of critical projects including budgets, talent reviews, presentations to the governance boards, and AdventHealth Corporate assignments.

STRATEGIC PLANNING RESPONSIBILITY:

•    Responsible for identifying, researching, analyzing, reporting and providing solutions for short-term and long-term service line management strategies.

•    Collaborates with COO/CMO and Chiefs of Staff to Cabinet members to execute the annual planning process resulting in the creation of the annual Business Plan.

•    Serves as the project leader in preparation of major management meetings and major strategy/communications events.

•    Leads project teams that develop strategies and business plans for new or emerging initiatives under the leadership of the COO/CMO executive sponsor.

PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT RESPONSIBILITY:

•    Works with multiple operational areas/teams as a performance improvement/excellence advisor as well as drives specific initiatives across the organization as needed.

The Senior Manager, Institutes Strategy supports the COO and CMO dyad leaders of the Institutes with management system processes and special projects. The Institutes are made up of five specialty service lines - Cardiovascular, Cancer, Neuroscience, Orthopedics and Digestive & Surgery – and have strategic, operational and quality oversight for the Central Florida Division.

Management System: The Senior Manager, Institutes Strategy provides leadership for facilitation of strategic plan development, elements of strategic plan implementation and deployment of projects; operations and senior management communication across the five Institutes and key stakeholders outside of the Institute structure (ACS and IHS leaders); and serves as chief aide in detailed execution.  Collaborates with the COO/CMO and senior leadership on the integration of organizational performance excellence principles.  Oversees the operational plans across the Institutes.  Prepares materials and presentations for the Institute senior leadership team to further the advancement of the organization to key stakeholders.  Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Special Projects: The Senior Manager, Institutes Strategy investigates, researches, reports and provides guidance on service line management strategies to inform and enhance cross functional initiatives. Leads process improvement and project management activities to ensure strategies align with and are optimized for current and future growth projections. Consistently communicates and reports project status to leadership team with detailed and accurate information. Identifies strategic issues, recommends organizational changes, and collaborates with other leaders to implement necessary changes. Serves as a liaison between executives and business partners and assists in the ranking and escalation of critical needs/issues.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

•    Strong organization skills

•    Proficient in computer skills, particularly Microsoft Suite

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

EDUCATION PREFERRED:

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, communication or related field of study

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

•    Four (4) years of experience in a health care setting

•    Four (4) years of leadership or project management experience

 

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

•          Experience in performance management

•          Experience in leading organizational change
