You Will Be Responsible For:

Demonstrates behaviors at AdventHealth University in harmony with the “Four Words” Nurture, Excellence, Spirituality, and Stewardship.

  • Prepares all menu items to proper spec, temperature, and serving size.
  • Presents products or plates in an attractive manner and garnishes appropriately.
  • Ensures that all cold and hot food products are stored and produced according to recipe specifications and proper procedures.
  • Adheres to all sanitation, cleanliness, and safety standards; monitors and records food and/or equipment temperatures.
  • Continually checks food for quality, taste, appearance and freshness. Takes corrective action when needed.
  • Minimizes food waste by preparing the amount needed, without running out; ensures proper portioning.

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

Required:
  • Must be able to follow, read and write recipes as needed
Preferred:
  • Grill and front-line experience
  • Food Service line cook or lead cook experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Serv Safe or Equivalent
 Job Summary:
 

Under the direction of the Bookstore/Café Manager, responsible for preparation of all grilled items and related items for the Café.  Ensures that all food production is produced according to recipe specifications and proper procedures. Ensures that all products meet standards for quality, taste, appearance and freshness. Demonstrates cost conscious behaviors in all aspects.  Adheres to all sanitation, safety, cleanliness and food storage standards.  Assists with serving customers and provides world-class customer service. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
