Work Hours/Shift:
  • Full-time/Days
 You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Manage sonography staff including day to day operations, scheduling, coordination
  • Responsible for hiring, evaluating, terminating, educating and orienting report staff
  • Measures and tracks performance levels
  • Revises or creates new procedures to optimize patient care or work flow
  • Functions as acting sonographer in addition to supervisory duties
  • Must be willing to float to other AdventHealth Medical Group practices, within reason, when patient load, vacation schedules, etc make it necessary


What You Will Need:

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Certification/Registration through American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) is required
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, instrumentation, basic physics, patient care and medical ethics
  • Ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking with patients, co-workers and physicians
  • 3 plus years required; 10 plus years strongly preferred
  • Lead Sonographer experience preferred
  • Certified Pediatric Sonographer strongly preferred
Job Summary:

The Sonographer Supervisor acts with the appropriate leadership approval to manage sonography staff including hiring, evaluating and terminating sonographers under immediate supervision.  Responsible for training and orientation of new sonographers.  Oversees daily work flow and scheduling of direct reports within department, responsible for coordination between departments and patients, organizes and leads meetings in addition to functioning as a Sonographer.  Measures and tracks performance levels and revises procedures to optimize patient care and work flow.
