Work Hours/Shift:

Full Time Days

You Will Be Responsible For:   

  • Repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect medical equipment and instrumentation, including life-support equipment.
  • Document repair tickets from third party vendors.
  • Assist with and evaluate third-party repairs.
  • Provide technical assistance and instruction to personnel regarding equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Communicate with department managers and team members on equipment repairs and status.
  • Uses Joint Commission recommendations and AAMI standards for medical equipment.
  • Communicate with department managers and team members on equipment repairs and status.
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections.
  • Run diagnostic programs.
  • Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and illustrated parts drawings of biomedical instrumentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, calibration, and tests.
  • Uses basic anatomy and physiology as applied to use of biomedical equipment.
  • Uses color code conventions in component and wiring marking.
  • Utilizes the application and repair of computers/servers and how their interface with medical equipment.
Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 2 to 5 Years of Position-Related Experience
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) preferred

Job Summary:

Under minimal supervision, provide expert-level experience in the repair, calibration, and maintenance of medical equipment, instrumentation and support systems used in healthcare delivery. Execute professional-level inventory assessment/audits and preventive maintenance of medical equipment. Provide remedial corrective maintenance and maintain documentation of all service events, tests, and maintenance performed on clinical equipment. Knowledge of the application and repair of computers and servers and how they interface with medical equipment.  Performs preventive maintenance duties including planned scheduled inspection(s), testing, and calibration on all types of clinical equipment.  Must be able to use diagnostic test equipment to define and resolve problems with clinical equipment.  Maintains safety standards in all work activities.  Provide team support to meet shop and departmental objectives and goals.  Maintain up-to-date records on all equipment in the work order software database including but not limited to:  Repair and PM schedules, outside vendor activities, contracts and budget management.  Provides reports as required for monthly billing for applicable services, Communicates with manager and team members regarding work and equipment status.  Participates in Quality Improvement Program. There is on-call rotation with this position.
