You Will Be Responsible For:

• Responsible for scheduling and coordination of ancillary staff being anesthesia techs, surgical aide and supply techs and transporters according to patient, physician and procedures scheduled needs.
• Provides supervision to the anesthesia techs, surgical aide and supply techs and transporters.   
• Utilizing their job descriptions, performance and evaluation to deliver competent, efficient, and cost-effective patient care.
• Supervises the delivery of care in the surgical setting so that standards are maintained according to policy and procedure.
• Provides guidance to workflow process and patient experience in the day to day operations of operating room.
• In collaboration with the OR Manager, assists with human resource activities, including the hiring, counseling and evaluation processes.
• Enforces hospital policies and ensures that department procedures are adhered to.
• Cleans, sterilizes, and sets up anesthesia equipment
• Assists anesthesia providers with patient assessment, monitoring, transporting, positioning, insertion of intravenous and other invasive lines, and airway management
• Maintains equipment and troubleshoots malfunctions
• Ensures necessary equipment and supply inventory remain in stock
• Assists with schedule preparations, which includes emergent and urgent surgical procedures involving anesthesia
• Provides routine and emergency services for anesthesiologists

What You Will Need:

• Good communication and organizational skills required. Computer proficiency required.
• Must be self motivated, independent practitioner.  Complete knowledge of anesthesia, surgical aide, and transporter responsibilities with particular emphasis on operating room turnover process
• High School Diploma
• Three to five years of experience in Surgical Services/Hospital setting
• BLS

Job Summary:

The Surgery Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of all shift personnel and shift activities in collaboration with the OR Manager.   Supervises the delivery of care in assigned Surgery and also practices in a surgical setting within the scope of licensure in accordance with approved policies, procedures and protocols.   The Surgery Coordinator takes a leadership role in all aspects of patient and team functions.
