We are currently seeking qualified candidates for Vice President Operations / Campus Assistant Administrator (VP Ops) position that will be based at AdventHealth Florida Hospital for Children in Orlando.


GENERAL SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, the VP Ops has responsibility for the smooth and efficient operation of AdventHealth for Children (AHFC) and AdventHealth for Women (AHFW), including management of the related resources associated with the hospital and network of care. Provides management oversight for the development of high quality, cost efficient and integrated clinical programs within the hospital. Leads national partnerships to advance the tertiary and quaternary clinical services and has operational supportive oversight for the AHFC and AHFW Network across the state of Florida. Is expected to function independently in the absence of the administrator. Exercises management responsibility over the hospital, ensuring efficient services that are designed to meet the needs of patients and families, the physicians, the public, and the staff. Promotes and actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are respectful to all persons


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

•    Assists the SVP in ensuring operational success of the AHFC and AHFW campus and Network of Care.

•    Leads the development and implementation of new business strategies to enhance market share and improve overall performance, including oversight of multiple leading tertiary programs. Responsible for national contractual partnerships to help us achieve leading clinical and experience outcomes in these programs.

•     Assists the campus administrator in the implementation and operations of partnerships where AHFC & AHFW may provide clinical care outside of AdventHealth, through partnerships with other health systems.

•    Facilitates a highly matrixed approach in the developing hospital services and displays an ability to work effectively within the hospital system’s decision-making and organizational structures. Participates in System Councils to help plan and lead the organizational success across all campuses and services.

•    Represents the hospital to the external market, as well as internally through the application of community relations and marketing activities to leverage our physician Network, our Kids Urgent Care locations, our franchised Children’s Emergency Centers and our Neonatal Intensive Care Units with the goal to standardize and connect all pediatric care across our Network.

•    Implements and expands process improvement within the hospital.

•    Leads and supports key committees pertaining to hospital services.

•    Supports the strategic recruitment process of new physicians.

•    Receptive to the needs and concerns of all staff, physicians, volunteers, and community representatives

•    Assists in the management of community philanthropic partnerships by providing strategic oversight to the operational team.

•    Collaborates effectively with medical group leadership to advance the physician strategy in a cost-effective manner.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

•    Ability to build and maintain effective, productive teams as well as appropriate peer and physician relationships to facilitate organizational objectives

•    Knowledge and appropriate implementation of applicable regulatory standards, rules, and guidelines: DNV, AOA, State of Florida, and related agencies

•    Ability to manage financial, clinical, service, and risk-related activities in an organized, prioritized fashion

•    Ability to communicate both verbally and in written form, including public presentations and professional correspondence. Ability to work with team members at all levels of the organization

•    Capable of analyzing a variety of hospital information and reports associated with Comprehensive Close & Clinical Program Reviews

•    Effective computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSURE:

•    Master’s degree in Business Administration or Health Services Administration

•    At least five years of progressive leadership experience

•    Experience in hospital administration, marketing, or business

•    Working knowledge of various clinical and business-related departments of a hospital preferred

•    Understanding of financial spreadsheets and budgeting process preferred

•    Fellow or Diplomat status with ACHE preferred
