Work Hours:

Full Time / Days

•    Responsible for assisting in delivering patient care and performs front and back office duties.

•    Scanning documents into the patient’s electronic health record.

•    Obtains vital signs and documenting in appropriate part of patient chart.

•    Prepares the patient for the Nurse (removes any wound dressings and notifies the nurse when the patient is ready.

•    Draws blood, performs finger stick glucose and documents per hospital policy and procedure.

•     Must employ universal precautions, in compliance with OSHA standards for exposure control, including personal protective equipment.

•    Stocks exam rooms on daily basis and help maintain records for reordering supplies.

•    Cleans rooms between patients.

•    Assists Manager with ordering  medical supplies following purchasing procedures.

•    Helps Cover the front office as needed answering the phone, scheduling patients in the scheduling system, scheduling and coordinating diagnostic studies with the hospital per physician order, filing appropriate patient documents in patient charts.

•    Monitoring Hyperbaric Patients when the patient schedule requires assistance and when the fulltime hyperbaric tech is on PDO. Following hospital policy and protocol while safely compressing and decompressing patients during hyperbaric oxygen therapy.  

•    Providing education and consenting patients for Hyperbaric Therapy.

•    Assisting with Hyperbaric monthly staff education for Hyperbaric safety.

Qualifications

What you will need:

•   Must have completed an education program for preparing medical assistants.

•   One year of clinical experience 

•   Medical Assistant Certification

•   Hyperbaric Certification (preferred but not required)

•   BLS certification 


Job Summary:

Responsible for assisting with smooth clinic operation and patient flow. Assist in delivery of assigned patient care tasks in a busy outpatient wound care clinic setting that deals with at times complex patients. Expediting the efficient function of the clinic consistent with the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the Outpatient wound care clinic and hospital administration. Respond appropriately as needed when a situation with a patient should arise, perform a variety of specific patient care activities, consistent with goals, philosophy, standards and guidelines of the Outpatient wound care clinic and the hospital. Caring for our patients like those that we love the most.
