What will you do:

Performing all CT studies according to protocols, communicating with the radiologists, nursing units and ED staff. Performing contrast injections when needed. Transporting patients back to the ED. Starting and completing exams in the EMR and sending images and checking them in PACS

Responsibilities:

· Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.

· Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.

· Observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Monitors protocols and recommends updates or refinements as warranted.

· Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines.

Qualifications

What will you Need:

· Graduate of a 2-year allied health program preferred.

· BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required

· Radiology Technician credentialed from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required

· Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required

· Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred

· Two years of paid CT experience in a hospital preferred
