Work Hours/Shift:

Full time days

You Will Be Responsible For:

Comply with all department policies, procedures, practices and standards of care

Answers phone promptly, courteously and professionally.

Performs Medicare, Managed Care and Commercial Insurance verification for new referrals daily and enters intakes into Horizon.

Communicate with clinical staff regarding applicable patient deductibles, coinsurance, copays etc. prior to admissions.

Tracks expiring authorizations and collaborates with clinical staff to obtain additional auth 

Performs Medicare verification. 

Assists with ensuring that Plans of Treatment (485), Face to Face documents, Physicians orders and other documentation requiring timely signatures are sent, tracked and returned and logged into system in a timely fashion as needed.

Assists with the outstanding document, billhold, FTF, and 485 reports on a daily basis to assure all items are being followed up on and obtained back signed and filed in a timely manner as needed.  

Assists with maintaining patients charts of active and discharged patients with appropriate scanning, filing and storage.

Demonstrates computer skills and knowledge and maintenance of office equipment.

Maintains/orders medical supplies monthly and as needed, rotating stock to prevent waste.

Demonstrate cost-effective practices.

Participate in orientation, in-service and staff meetings as scheduled.

Secures patient confidentiality by protecting patient information on and off duty.

Develop skills through attendance at staff development meetings, pertinent educational activities.

Maintains personnel files upon request.

Performs payroll duties on a weekly basis upon request.

Faxes documents to physicians and other providers for field staff as requested.

Calls laboratory to request patient lab reports for field staff as requested.

Participates in Performance Improvement activities as appropriate to departmental needs.

Complete related tasks as assigned by the Supervisor, Manager or Director.

Maintains current drivers license and automobile insurance. 

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

High school graduate or equivalent

Computer keyboard and word processing skills.  One (1) year of general office experience preferred.
