Work Hours/Shift:

FT / Nights

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Assists patients with activities of daily living (ADL)

  • Provides or assists with providing direct patient care, diagnostic procedures, and therapeutic interventions

  • Observes and records patient behaviors and activities

  • Reports changes in patient conditions to appropriate personnel and recommends treatment plan modifications

  • Establishes therapeutic relationships with assigned patients

  • Works directly with patients, family members, physicians, and community providers to ensure collaborative and continuous care

  • May be required to manage daily group activities

  • Assists patients to perform routine activities of daily living

  • Recognizes potential escalation of behavior and has ability to use appropriate verbal and physical interventions

  • Recognizes potential safety hazards, intervenes for the safety of patients, visitors and staff and notifies appropriate department or person for correction of the problem

  • Assists in restraint situations: utilizing de-escalation skills to prevent restraints, applying restraints when needed with RN direction, maintaining patient safety, appropriate documentation of patient behaviors and interventions

  • Implements activities in a consistent manner

  • Adheres to activity calendar and/or program schedule. Demonstrates skills in self-esteem, interpersonal skills, and behavior management

  • Performs other duties as assigned


Qualifications

What You Will Need:
  • High school degree or equivalent

  • Associates Degree or Technical degree in a related field, or specific certification related to position preferred

  • One year of healthcare setting preferred

  • BLS certification required

  • Aggression Management certification required during orientation
