Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist - Texas Health Mansfield- operated as joint venture between Texas Health Resources and AdventHealth

Location: 2300 Lone Star Road; Mansfield, TX

Work Hours:

PRN / Days

You Will Be Responsible For:

•    Maintains a proper sterile field during surgical procedures

•    Assists surgeons with vascular procedures, such as preparing balloons and stents

•  Monitors patient comfort and safety during tests, alerting physicians to abnormalities or changes in patient responses

•    Ensures patient comfort and reports any unusual occurrences

•    Is consistent in obtaining high quality images using digital x-ray equipment

•    Transfers images to appropriate storage medium

•  Learns physician preferences and routines and meets these in a timely manner

•    Can gather all supplies and set up a sterile field for each procedure that is performed in the Cath lab

•    Inspects and documents findings of protective wear according to policy

•   Monitors radiation safety for staff, physicians, patients and any observers involved in procedures performed in the Cath lab

•    Uses stock judiciously and in a cost-effective manner

•    Demonstrates the ability to provide post procedure hemostasis and correctly applies post procedure dressing

•     Participates in patient/family educational/supportive needs

•     Participates in quality improvement efforts

•     Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

•         Associates degree in a related field

•         Bachelor’s degree preferred

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

•         Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

•         Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

•         Must possess and maintain one of the following:

•         Current valid State of                _ license as a Registered Nurse (RN)

•         Radiologic Technologist [R.T.(R)]

•         Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)

•         Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES)

•         Cardiovascular Therapist (CVT)

 

Job Summary:

Assists cardiologists with cardiac catheterization procedures.
