You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Assists physicians in cases of adverse reaction or in acute emergencies when necessary.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of emergency codes, location of emergency equipment and method of activation.
  • Fulfills requirements of Scrub Position giving age appropriate care under supervision of physician. Follows hospital and department protocols for sterile technique, patient monitoring and patient safety requirements.
  • Performs duties in compliance with universal precaution and infection control.
  • Maintains radiation protection standards for patients, employees and self, according to ALARA principles.
  • Maintains required credentials, licenses and certifications within required renewal dates.
  • Adheres to department standards for on-call coverage.
  • Obtains required patient history and/or consents, reviews for accuracy, completeness and verifies patient identification and information prior to procedure.
  • Verifies lab results prior to procedure to determine that the results are within normal ranges for procedure and that the patient is a candidate for administration of contrast material according to protocol. Consults with physicians as needed.
  • Responsible for cleaning equipment, exam rooms and keeps an orderly work area for improved efficiency.
  • Utilizes computer system within the hospital guidelines. Effectively communicates, with professionalism, via e-mail.
  • Proficient in required computer programs to perform daily job function. Proficient in documentation and computer charting.
  • Wears radiation monitoring device(s).
  • Assists with supervision of ancillary personnel.
  • Participates in staff and student development.
  • Participates in professional organization and/or other acceptable advanced certification.
  • Responsible for all other duties and duty assignments requested within the scope of practice of the license/certificate holder.
Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

• Must be certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

• Must possess and maintain one of the following:

• Current valid State of  FL license as a Registered Nurse (RN)

• Radiologic Technologist [R.T.(R)]

• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)

• Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES)

Job Summary:

Under close supervision the Cardiovascular Interventional Tech I is a new Cardiovascular Technology graduate or a newly hired Registered Nurse (RN), Radiologic Technologist [R.T.(R)], or Respiratory Therapist (RRT), cross training to perform effectively in all three roles (scrub, circulate, monitor) which are utilized during a variety of Cardiovascular, Electrophysiology or Interventional Radiology procedures to provide an efficient, comfortable, and safe examination of all patients.  Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
