You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Demonstrates through behavior of Florida Hospital’s core values of Integrity, Compassion, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship, and Teamwork. 
  • Proficiently schedules and pre-registers patient tests for all departments utilizing Cerner and the hospital patient accounting system where required.
  • Adheres to scheduling scripts provided; always providing correct patient instructions/directions.
  • Pre-registers patient utilizing tools in Cerner, entering accurate demographic and financial information, unless scheduling calls are backed up.
  • Enters accurate info into Cerner and adheres to scheduling rules provided in policies and procedures.
  • Immediately notifies lead scheduler/supervisor of any patient, physician or physician’s office complaints.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in obtaining information necessary for completion of pre-certification/authorization.
  • Prepares, compiles and verifies all necessary paperwork and orders prior to exam.
  • Efficiently and effectively works with departments on same day scheduling/next day challenges and over bookings, providing superior service to hospital departments, thus facilitating provision of excellent customer service to our doctors and patients. 
  • Projects a positive and helpful demeanor with patients, doctors and/or physician’s office staff.
  • Adheres to HIPAA regulations by verifying pertinent information to determine caller or visitor authorization level before releasing account information. 

Qualifications
What You Will Need:
  • Typing skills equal to or greater than 27 words per minute net Required.
  • High School diploma or GED Required.
  • Knowledge of computer programs including Cerner, Registration screens Preferred.
  • Hospital/Physician business office experience preferred.  Medical terminology preferred.
Job Summary:

Under the direction and supervision of the Centralized Scheduling Supervisor, schedules resources for tests and events to maximize patient convenience and efficiency of resource utilization.  Gathers pre-registration information and gives special instructions to the patient and directions to the facility.  Competency evaluations are based on observation during the previous year unless otherwise noted.
