Work Hours/Shift:

Full Time/M-F

You will be responsible for:

  •  Actively performs all pharmacy functions and maintains active proficiency in standard work parameters, operational program, dispensing and compounding systems, hospital computer systems and medication ordering systems.
  • Accurately oversees the management of medication inventories and the preparation and dispensing of patient-specific medication doses.
  • Completes critical medication order scrutiny, drug profile review, and patient monitoring to identify, prevent, or mitigate medication-related problems.
  • Proficiently verifies/enters medication orders and proactively communicates with medical staff to resolve problem medication orders.
  • Initiates and facilitates appropriate drug dosing and manages medication-related pharmacist consults.
  • Provides primary coverage and leadership of direct patient care programs and multidisciplinary services.
  • Maintains proficiency to practice in decentralized areas and units.
  • Maintains evidence-based expertise in specialty pharmacy practice that is aligned with the needs of assigned clinical pharmacy service roles and patient care areas (expertise in the ASHP PGY2 standards).
  • Leads current and establishes new patient care services specific to critical care in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary care team.
  • Establishes new pharmacy student (IPPE and APPE), resident, and staff training experiences and competencies.
  • Establishes new pharmacy student PGY1 Pharmacy resident training experiences and competencies.
  • Leads initiatives and actively participates in procedures to maintain full ASHP Accreditation of all pharmacy residency programs.

What you will need:

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree, Doctor of Pharmacy or other advanced pharmacy degree preferred.
  • PGY1 & PGY2 Pharmacy Residency in specialty area consistent with practice needs of institution OR PGY1 Residency plus specialty practice experience of 3+ years consistent with practice needs of institution, with portfolio documenting sustained contribution to practice OR Clinical Pharmacy experience in specialty practice of 5+ years in a contemporary hospital setting, with portfolio documenting sustained contribution to practice required.
  • FL Pharmacist license.
  • Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties certification.
  • ACLS from American Heart Association.
