Work Hours/Shift:
Full time/days
You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Provide inpatient consultation for diabetes management and evaluation in collaboration with the primary nurse and attending physician

  • Collaborates with pharmacy and case management on continuity of care related to glycemic management

  • Refers patients to outpatient Diabetes Center when appropriate

  • Collaborates with case management on continuity of care related to glycemic management

  • Documents assessment data and clinical recommendations grounded in evidenced based practice

  • Assists with coordination of diabetes education





Qualifications
What You Will Need:
  • B.S. in Nutrition/Dietetics or related field, with completion of Dietetic Internship

  • 1+ year experience as Clinical Dietitian

  • Registered and Licensed Dietitian in the State of Florida

  • Knowledge of current diabetes treatments and management 

  • Excellent customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

  • Knowledge of staff and patient teaching

  • 2+ year experience Clinical Dietitian with emphasis or interest in Diabetes, preferred

  • Dietitian with active CDCES or CDE credential, preferred

  • M.S in Nutrition/Dietetics, preferred

  • Experience with outpatient diabetes or MNT teaching, preferred

Job Summary:

You are joining our diabetes family! We are improving diabetes care in both the inpatient and outpatient setting in Marion County. This position will allow a Clinical Dietitian to grow into a Certified Diabetes Educator Care and Education Specialist (CDCES). The role of the Clinical Dietitian Diabetes Educator is to perform clinical consultation and educational services for person with diabetes, under the supervision of the certified diabetes educator or quality coordinator. This role will include assistance in the development and implementation of prevention strategies, as well as, provide education to diabetic clients and their families. Responsible for the curriculum development for courses offered to nurses, patients, and families. Train and educate nursing staff in diabetes and health clinical procedures; coordinates in-service training, continuing education, and other diabetes related teaching. Responsible to assist in the monitoring of glycemic outcomes and development of action plans. As a Clinical Dietitian Diabetes Educator, you will also be assisting with inpatient Medical Nutrition Therapy when needed, to maintain Clinical Dietitian skillset.
