Work Hours/Shift:
Full Time, Days
You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of complete infection prevention and control process in the healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of risk stratified statistics as applicable to trending nosocomial infections.
  • Develops and implements a system for identifying, investigating, reporting and preventing the spread of nosocomial infections among residents of all ages and healthcare personnel.
  • Assists in the development, implementation and improvement of infection prevention and control practices.
  • Completes required state and local reports to Health Department in a timely and accurate manner.

What You Will Need:
  • Current KS RN license required
  • Qualifications for Infection Control may be met through ongoing education, training, experience and/or certification.
  • Two or more years in a supervisory position in the field of healthcare, with experience in Infection Prevention preferred
  • Member of the Association of Practitioners of Infection Control and Epidemiology
  • ICP (CIC) Preferred, begin process after 2 years’ experience in the field
  • CPR required within one month of hire
Job Summary:

Infection Prevention is a qualified individual with knowledge of CDC guidelines and definitions of nosocomial infections, TJC standards, federal and state regulations.  Responsible for the identification, investigation, reporting, prevention, and control of nosocomial infections among residents and personnel.  By authority of the Infection Prevention Committee, may institute collection of cultures and initiate appropriate isolation precautions.  Responsible for assisting with in-service programs related to infection prevention.

Employee Health develops and coordinates employee health education and wellness programs for the Hospital.  Works collaboratively with Human Resources to provide Employee Health Services.

Workers Compensation provides case management for workers compensation claims, working with employee, manager, Occupational Medicine and insurance companies to provide good outcomes for employees.
