You Will Be Responsible For:
• Contributes to the efficient and safe operation of the Assessment Center department. Conducts routine/general business necessary for quality and efficiency with department development.
• Conducts Assessment Center testing and calibration: Blood Draws, Strength, Endurance and Flexibility Assessment, Pulmonary Function / Calibration, Body Composition / Calibration, Graded Exercise Testing, Hearing Test / Calibration, Vision Test, PPD Test, Drug Screens
• Responsible for preparing charts for testing and filing.
• Responsible for proper filing of charts.
• Compiles and provides education packets to Assessment Center clients with emphasis on exercise, nutrition and test results.
• Accurately explains test results.
• Possesses a thorough understanding of code cart and its uses for graded exercise tests and performs checklist daily.
• Performs all technical skills during exercise sessions and records all pertinent data (HR, BP, ECG changes, unusual symptoms).
• Schedules patients, handles incoming calls and takes messages or routes calls accordingly.
• Collect mail on a weekly basis.
• Accurately charges clients for services rendered.
• Follow up on outstanding accounts monthly.
• Deposit funds daily according accounting policy.
• Update voice mail as needed.
• Demonstrates cooperation and teamwork within the Assessment Center department and other contacts by communicating in a clear, concise, open, constructive and appropriate manner.
• Communicates appropriately with the Assessment Center staff, Coordinators, Administrative Director, physicians, and others in a professional and timely manner.
• Employee is available to help supervisor with maintenance and running of the Assessment Center.
• Assists coordinator with scheduling and documentation of all testing.
• Demonstrates the ability to perform necessary computer functions for data entry.
• Helps with preparation of contract and orientation packets.
• Employee is capable of performing off-site assessment testing.
• Demonstrates safe and effective transportation of equipment, including proper lifting techniques.
• Responsible for organizing equipment and supplies that will be taken off-site for testing procedures.
• Demonstrates ability to set-up, calibrate and check equipment for testing.
• Consistently wears pager when out of department and answers pages in a timely manner. Checks battery and replaces as needed.
What You Will Need:
Masters or Bachelors Degree in the area of Exercise Physiology with emphasis on exercise testing, exercise prescription, and exercise leadership for both healthy and special populations.
Prior experience in the areas of exercise testing, exercise prescription, and exercise leadership.
Certifications in CPR and ACLS by the AHA as well as hearing certifications as required for OSHA standards are required.
Certifications provided by ACSM preferred.
Job Summary:
Provides the Assessment Center department and different programs within the hospital with a knowledgeable component of exercise physiology. The job holder performs exercise stress testing, exercise leadership and counseling for the Assessment Center.
