GENERAL SUMMARY:
 

Responsible for the overall process for physician/practitioner appointment and reappointment to the medical staff. Provides technical and clerical assistance to facilitate effective and efficient operation of the provider credentialing function. Maintains data on credentials of current staff.

 
 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains the confidential credential file of each new and reappointment applicants for Administrative Review accuracy and completeness.
  • Process Medical Staff privileging and maintains responses of appropriate follow-up information
  • Responsible for mailing or emailing the practitioners' initial/reappointment board letters in a timely manner to facilitate completion of the verification and committee review process.
  • Successfully prepares Medical Staff reporting.
  • Maintains Medical Staff meetings, agendas and minutes.
  • Coordinates communication of information between medical staff and administration.
  • Facilitates Medical Staff groups and accesses within EMR system.
  • Develops and maintains ER call schedule records for Florida Hospital Tampa and LTAC, including investigation and resolution of compliance and complaints.
  • Maintains ER Admissions Preference form requests.
  • Orders and stocks department supplies.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
 
  • Computer literacy including proficiency in Credentialing Software, Word, windows and database management.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and writing with a variety of professionals with a customer service outlook
 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

 
  • High School/GED Diploma
  • 5 years medical staff services experience including responsibility for all facets of the position, i.e. Credentialing, accreditation, bylaws, division support, organization, procedural functioning.
