Work Hours/Shift:

Full Time

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Complete prepping, scanning, quality control, and validation processes on any or all types of records into the electronic health record system, as defined by the rounding schedule of the HIM department.

  • Answer phones and tend to customer’s needs in a polite and timely manner, including faxing health information and releases to appropriate recipients, all while adhering to strict HIPAA regulations.

  • Uphold professional standards of performance and conduct. Treat all customers and coworkers in a professional and courteous manner at all times.

  • Perform other job duties as needed that may include, but not limited to birth certificate completions; behavioral heath record processing; monitoring and reporting physician and record deficiencies.


What You Will Need:

  • Phone and computer skills required.

  • Flexibility in work hours, may be required to work overtime, weekends, or holidays.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Medical terminology preferred.

  • Previous scanning knowledge preferred.

  • HIM office experience preferred

  • Experience in any healthcare related office setting preferred

  • If completing Acknowledgment of Paternity, must be certified by Attorney General.

  • HIM certification preferred.

Job Summary:

The HIM Tech position involves preparation and input of medical record documentation into the electronic health record. Strict confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA regulations and guidelines is a must.  It consists of quality detailed work, as well as great communications with other staff, customers, and physicians in order to achieve excellence within the HIM department.
