Logistics Coordinator – Resource Management 

AdventHealth Orlando


Work Hours/Shift:   Full Time Days
GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Logistics Coordinator – Resource Management works under the direction of Resource Management leadership on all assigned projects related to the campus and Health Village. Projects are derived from the Operational Excellence Team or directed by senior management. The Logistics Coordinator – Resource Management will provide thoroughly disinfected supplies. Supplies will be accurately assembled on racks for processing. The Logistics Coordinator – Resource Management will be responsible for use of the processing equipment and able to troubleshoot minor issues. The Logistics Coordinator – Resource Management is responsible to pick up recyclable supplies from all areas of the campus and deliver to the processing location. The Logistics Coordinator – Resource Management will also deliver clean supplies to all areas of the campus. Responsible for maintaining supplies and equipment per department specific guidelines. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Ensures the daily progress of assigned project(s) to meet goals, safety standards, and budgets within leadership and customer expectations.
  • Provides feedback to leadership and customers on project(s) progress.
  • Ensures database reflects current progress and budget updates for project(s).
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with all departments and vendors. Serves as a general resource and liaison for the Director, PMs, and AdventHealth Leadership. Performs regular and consistent follow up on all tasks to ensure completion and satisfaction.
  • Participates in and coordinates other special projects as assigned by leadership.
  • Rotates assignments among various areas within the department functions including but not limited to: collecting items from various locations on the campus, sorting, transporting, arranging items on racks, logging items in software program, and delivering items to designated area(s) on the campus.
  • Properly identifies and segregates items that are expired, soiled, or otherwise compromised. Correctly and safely operates all equipment in the decontamination area ensuring that all standards for personal protective equipment and prevention of exposure are adhered to at all times.
  • Ensures all parameters for disinfection are met by reviewing and documenting all disinfection results to confirm proper disinfection time, temperature, humidity, and disinfectant exposure. Prior to releasing items for use ensures that all required chemical and/or biological testing has been completed.
  • Monitors and maintains records for disinfection process. Documents all requirements in appropriate system.
  • Utilizes process for disinfection failures. Notifies supervisor or manager of positive result.
  • Utilizes knowledge of the vendor specified processing environmental controls. Reports out of range temps and humidity to engineering.
  • Alternates between a contaminated environment and a clean environment utilizing appropriate infectious prevention measures and correct use of PPE.
  • Communicates effectively with all hospital departments/campuses and with others within the department.  Uses the chain of command as necessary to resolve issues.
  • Maintains knowledge base by attending in-services and department meetings. 
  • Analyzes data to identify areas for improvement and provide meaningful data-driven insights and recommendations to leadership.
  • Conducts financial and/or operational analyses and interprets results to support business stakeholders in making strategic decisions.
  • Adheres to the AdventHealth Corporate Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.

Qualifications
What You Will Need:
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to focus detailed concentrated effort to multiple projects and re-establish priorities as necessary
  • Ability to organize and integrate department priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to establish and execute projects within budgets and planned timeframes
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently while thriving in a setting of collaboration and teamwork for maximal efficiency and effectiveness
  • Ability to ensure follow through on all initiatives implemented and all work-projects undertaken
  • Ability to read and understand standard business documents
  • Ability to make appropriate independent judgments and use critical thinking
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity of desktop applications, including MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:

  • Knowledge of additional Office applications, including (Project, Publisher, Visio)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Associate degree, preferably in a related field such as: business, health care, or engineering; or Two (2) years of experience in an acute care hospital setting

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related field such as: business, health care, or engineering
  • One (1) year of experience in an acute care hospital setting

  • N/A

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Six Sigma Certification
