Job Description

Working under the direct supervision of the pharmacist(s),  the pharmacy technician assists in all pharmacy operations'  functions related to:  (1) preparation & distribution of all doses of medication; (2) maintenance of drug inventories (e.g., re-stocking automated dispensing cabinets throughout the hospital, drug packaging/re-packaging, extemporaneous compounding, code cart re-stock, etc); and, (3) completion of patients' records pertaining to drug therapy (drug charges & credits etc),  (4) employs  specific aseptic technique skills to perform sterile compounding (IV) in an environment consistent with guidelines established in USP , and (5) perform activities associated with inventory management and departmental quality/performance improvement programs under the direct supervision of the pharmacist.Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent, AND
Successful completion of a certified Pharmacy Technician training program (CPhT) recognized by the NABP or a nationally recognized organization *OR*
Current, minimum of 3 years, on-hands clinical experience in a hospital pharmacy.
College-level courses desirable but not required;
Must have minimum of 1500 hours of experience in sterile compounding techniques according to USP guidelines.  Must have minimum of 2 years, recent,   clinical hospital experience 
Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) AND
Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician License
