You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Enters and posts receipts into computer systems from Point of Service Collections and reconciles at the end of each day.
  • Manages and maintains the cash box and safe.
  • Aids patients with billing questions and sets up pay arrangements as appropriate.
  • Notifies outpatient departments of any changes in schedules after the schedules have been printed and distributed.
  • Verifies patient insurance information using the Eligibility Inquiry in CPSI.

Job Summary:

Arranges for the efficient and orderly admission of inpatients and admission of individuals who have hospital-based outpatient testing or procedures. Interviews incoming patient or representatives and enters demographic and insurance information required for admission into the computer system correctly. Collects point of service collections from patients upon the registration process. Acts as a financial counselor in aiding patients with billing questions and setting up payment arrangements. Distributes appropriate information to ancillary departments.  Participates in performance improvement and CQI activities. Ensures highest level of customer service is provided to the patients and their families.  Ensures patients are aware of hospital policies and procedures. Ensures patients’ privacy is protected by complying with all HIPAA rules and regulations. Performs other secretarial/clerical duties as needed.  Oversees the day to day functions of staffing for Patient Access, Imaging Access, ER Access and Switchboard. Maintains open communication with other departments and their managers to ensure patient access processes are met. Provides leadership by constantly demonstrating outstanding customer service skills. Ensures staff meets patient satisfaction goals through providing the best possible patient experience.
