Work Hours/Shift:

You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Assists the pharmacist with all duties of preparing and dispensing of medication.
  • Prepares sterile products such as IV solutions, piggyback containers, and cytotoxic drugs, irrigations, TPN’s, epidurals, prefilled syringes, reconstituting of medications under aseptic conditions.
  • Able to retrieve and read medication orders in the pharmacy information system.
  • Keeps work area and equipment clean and neat.
  • Accurately refills Pyxis MedStation; accurately conducts inventory of Pyxis MedStation and accurately loads and unloads medications to/from Pyxis as directed by the Director or Supervisor.
  • Triage incoming telephone calls. 
  • Re-orders medications and supplies as needs are identified
  • Maintains pharmacy inventory, including checking for expiration dates, rotation of stock, and proper handling of medications
  • Performs all duties necessary to provide for the effective daily operation of all department services and programs. 
  • Serves the needs of neonatal, pediatric, adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients. 
  • Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Qualifications
What You Will Need:
  • High School diploma
  • Current enrolment in a NC Board of Pharmacy approved school of pharmacy.
Job Summary:

The Pharmacy Intern, working under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, performs delegated

duties, tasks and functions associated with the provision of pharmacy services within the hospital.
