Full Time, Days
 
You Will Be Responsible For:
  1. Manages the physician affiliate office/department in a cost-effective, efficient manner assuring that staff provides high quality care in a courteous and friendly atmosphere.
    1. Regularly reviews billing practices to assure physician and office reimbursement is appropriate
    2. Assists the Practice Manager and/or Director of Practice Operations in preparation of annual budget, as requested
    3. Reviews and analyzes Responsibility and Expense Detail Reports
      1. Demonstrates ability to read and understand reports
      2. Understands expense variances and is able to provide justification for same
      3. Takes corrective action, when necessary, to correct negative variances
      4. Demonstrates understanding of budgetary limitations
      5. Properly assigns payables and credits against budgetary categories
    4. Assures correctness and timeliness of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
      1. Demonstrates understanding of Chart of Accounts
      2. Properly completes and submits Petty Cash Reimbursement/Reconciliation form
      3. Ensures security of money (cash, checks and credit card vouchers)
      4. Properly prepares check requests and reimbursement requests in accordance with hospital policy
      5. Properly processes invoices for payment in accordance with hospital policy
    5. May prepare and track data which reflects turnaround time and test results.
  2. Is responsible for the hiring, training, development and assignment of tasks to the physician affiliate office staff.
    1. Uses progressive counseling to develop employees as necessary.  Demonstrates knowledge of disciplinary action including, but not limited to, Corrective Action Forms.
    2. Prepares and presents employee evaluations and in a timely manner.
    3. Participates in monthly staff meetings.  Minutes and a roster are maintained.
    4. Coordinates completion of employee competencies in a timely manner
    5. Prepares, updates and tracks department schedules to ensure adequate staffing coverage in practice to include on-call schedules, prn staffing and PDO days for employees and physicians.
    6. Demonstrates ability to interpret and enforce Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center and HealthCare Partners policies and procedures
    7. Assures staff is knowledgeable about, and complies with, local, state and federal regulations
  3. Properly completes Destiny payroll data entry in a timely manner.
  4. Maintains medical records in compliance with Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center, HealthCare Partners, TJC and HIPAA requirements with respect to patient confidentiality, security and completeness.
  5. Maintains complete and updated Policies and Procedures manuals including, but not limited to:  HealthCare Partners, Administrative, Safety/Disaster, Infection Control and MSDS.
  6. Assures that office meets Safety and Infection Control standards.
  7. Responds to problems/concerns of the physicians and staff members of the practice.
  8. Assists with physician credentialing as necessary.
  9. Acts as practice liaison for patients and staff.
  10. Provides reports and statistics as requested by management.
  11. Performs other duties and tasks as assigned by Practice Manager and/or Director of Practice Operation, Medical Director of Radiology or Administration.
Qualifications
What You Will Need:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Associates degree required, or equivalent related experience. Bachelor of Business Administration or healthcare related field preferred. Computer proficiency required-in Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Two years experience as a lead role in a medical setting or physician office manager required.  Experience in management of multiple practices or specialty practices desirable.  Must have knowledge of TJC requirements and local, state, and federal regulations.
