Work Hours/Shift:
  • Full-Time, Monday – Friday

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Provides high-level customer service to customers as well as AIT partners.
  • Performs processing of purchasing requests while ensuring selected vendors, quotes, and contracts are being used and that information is up to date. 
  • Enters requisitions into system using punchout or speciality requisition, as appropriate.
  • Generates and provides product quotations with pricing as requested by customers and AIT partners.
  • Communicates with vendors for quote requests and to resolve issues.
  • Handles inter-department transfers for IT equipment.
  • Routinely reviews the current product list including part numbers and pricing to ensure the correct item is ordered and all information is entered in the designated tracking system. 
  • Reviews requested products and strategies to ensure purchase requests align with AdventHealth standards. Obtains proper approval when/if purchase request would deviate from standards.
  • Works closely with customers to make recommendations for software and/or hardware selection, providing accurate pre-purchase technical analysis on PC-related hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
  • Handles returns good requests in a prompt and appropriate manner.
  • Recognizes the need for possible escalation of requests and asks for assistance with escalations when necessary.
  • Processes orders for external teleconference bridges.

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience Required:

  • Two years of experience in Purchasing or proven high degree of customer service and consistent high performance within the department
  • Experience of using purchase order systems
Education and Experience Preferred:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Accounting, or Finance related field

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of personal computers, hardware, software, and mobile phones
  • Knowledge of purchase flow from creation of a requisition to receipt of product
Job Summary:

The Intermediate Purchasing and Controls Specialist is responsible for the acquisition of software and hardware purchases for all assigned entities, as well as entering requisitions for IT projects and inventory in a timely manner and according to service level agreements.  Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
