You Will Be Responsible For:

SERVICE

•     Responsible for Assisting the VP Finance with organization and management of assigned departments, administration and program development of the Tampa Market Central Accounting Office.

•     Represents the Tampa Market as a liaison for decision support systems integration under Isynergy.

•     Manages and evaluates established programs and policies of the Tampa Market Central Accounting Office.

•     Oversees preparation of West Florida Division monthly and annual Decision Support Reports.

•     Responsible for assisting with development and maintenance of various decision support systems as needed to report from a Division perspective.  Said systems include but are not limited to Horizon Performance Management (HPM), Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE), Cerner Patient Accounting (CPA), and Peoplesoft,

•     Supervises preparation of monthly decision support reports for all hospitals in the Tampa Market and reviews for accuracy and timeliness.

•     Prepares individual project analyses as requested by Finance leaders.

•     Assumes full responsibility for the work of those directly supervised and maintains same responsibilities as required of all Tampa Market Financial Analysts.

 

PEOPLE

•     Participates in monthly financial close meetings.

•     Collaborates with finance team in designing and implementing plans, policies, procedures that provide for a sufficient number of appropriately qualified staff and other department members to care for the needs of the hospitals in the Tampa Market.

•     Demonstrates administrative proficiency and expertise in his/her profession and mission of the hospital.

•     Develops, implements, and assists managers/directors in utilizing systems to ensure departments function within budgeted guidelines.

•     Performs delegated functions in compliance with hospital and department policies.

•     Utilizes self appropriately as liaison between medical staff, governing body, hospital staff, corporation and community served by the hospitals.

•     Maintains awareness of current developments and trends in the provision of health care services within the healthcare environment and incorporates these trends into operational policies and procedures as applicable.

•     Interviews, hires, evaluates and disciplines department staff according to hospital policies and procedures.

•     Assists the VP Finance with plans for department long and short term achievements using effective time management skills, prioritizing skills.

FINANCE

•     Assists the VP Finance in adhering to improving financial performance of the Tampa Market.

•     Analyzes data reports and data warehouse efforts and assists VP Finance and CFOs with understanding trends and variances and with predicting future trends.

•     Collaborates with finance leaders to improve date review timeliness and accuracy and to improve the efficiency of reviewing data cycles.

•     Manages the resources of the department to meet budgetary guidelines.

OUTCOMES

•     Gathers information, completes and files all Division decision support requests, compliance questionnaires, government reports and surveys within scope of responsibility.

•     Develops, implements, reviews and revises department policies and procedures in accordance with applicable law and regulation.

•     Maintains qualify control programs as appropriate.

•     Ensures that audit results for data projections are within acceptable ranges.

•     Ensures that audit findings are communicated in a timely manner.

•     Ensures that data is provided accurately and timely as needed for Division leaders review.

GROWTH/LEADERSHIP

•     Works collaboratively with other managers and directors to ensure that one level of accuracy and completeness is provided throughout the Tampa Market.

•     Collaborates on recommendations regarding strategic planning and priorities.

•     Participates in allocating resources needed by supporting departments.

•     Attends Division meetings as requested.


Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

•     Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills to communicate with all hospital contacts. 

•     Effectively communicates with all age groups, populations and individuals inside and outside the facility.

•     Must possess intermediate to advanced level computer skills and knowledge of medical terms and report writing.

•     Must be self-motivated.

•     Must manage multiple deadlines and prioritize assignments.

•     Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

•     Must be well-organized with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:

•     Have 5+ years’ experience in healthcare analytics/auditing, public accounting, or related field; and minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience.

•     Prefer working knowledge of Peoplesoft, Horizon Performance Management, Cerner Patient Accounting, Oracle Business Intelligence, QlikView, PowerInsight, Microsoft Excel (v-lookups, macros, pivot tables, VBA, graphs, etc,), Microsoft Word, Microsoft Power Point and the rest of the Mircrosoft Office Suite. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

•     Finance, Business Administration or Accounting equivalent Bachelor’s Degree required

•     Five (5) + years experience in data analyzing, gathering or producing statistical reporting in a Finance, General Accounting, Decision Support, Health Services or Customer Service related field. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

•     Healthcare specific coursework or certifications.

•     Master’s Degree preferred

 

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:

•     CPA desirable, though not required.
