Work Hours/Shift:

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • •       Employee health nurse may conduct pre-employment physical examination to ensure that prospective employees meet the physical requirements of a job
  • •       Administers immunizations against infectious diseases and follow up on any adverse reactions
  • •       Employee health nurse may develop or lead training sessions on topics such as infectious diseases, chemical exposure and the use of personal protective equipment
  • •       Documents the training efforts and evaluates the effectiveness of such programs by administering post-training assessments
  • •       Determines employee counseling or referral needs and ensures timely delivery of contracted services
  • •       Delivers short-term counseling and follow-up care to employees
  • •       Consults with and manages troubled employees, critical incidents, and workplace violence

Qualifications
What You Will Need:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

•       Ability to review programs and identify appropriate employee health management initiatives

•       Ability to monitor effectiveness measures for employee health programs in order to improve employee health and well-being

•       Ability to review employee work and progress and prepare written reports

•       Ability to analyze and assess employee health data, techniques, methodology, equipment operations, and quality control to ensure that information is obtained and presented accurately

•       Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English

•       Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office

•       Knowledge of AOHP guidelines, standard of care

•       Knowledge of CDC guidelines, OHSA, state guidelines, and other regulatory bodies

•       Comprehensive knowledge of general nursing theory and practices

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

•       Graduate of accredited school of nursing

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

•       Two years of technical experience

•       Bachelor’s degree in a related field

 

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

•       Current state license to practice professional nursing 

•       Basic Life Support (BLS) certification



Job Summary:


The Employee Health Nurse performs a variety of occupational health services which may include new hire physical assessments, immunizations/TST, blood draws, blood/body fluid exposure surveillance, medical illness/injury triage, basic first aid, mask fit testing, drug screens.
