Work Hours/Shift:
You Will Be Responsible For:
- Support the performance improvement/clinical/peer review activities of the Medical Staff :
- Perform medical record screening/abstraction based on approved criteria.
- Confer with Medical Staff leaders in matters related to performance improvement/clinical review to involve them in identifying and resolving clinical issues.
- Attend/support Medical Staff Committees related to performance improvement/clinical review, including:
- Preparing/presenting cases for review.
- Ensuring/documenting appropriate follow-up.
- Maintain case review database(s), documents, and files.
- Attend/support nurse peer review committee related to performance improvement/educational opportunities
- Perform monthly mortality reviews based on established criteria
- Review returns to surgery cases and compare to National Standards
- Review readmissions as requested for appropriate clinical care
- Support evidence-based practices through abstraction/analysis/reporting of clinical quality data.
- Prepare/publish periodic clinical outcome reports.
- Participate in improvement activities related to internal quality initiatives.
- Serve as a leader within the department collaborating/coordinating activities
Qualifications
What You Will Need:
- Florida-licensed Registered Nurse
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Must be proficient in the English language.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practice programs and external/public clinical outcomes reporting, e.g., JCAHO core measures, CMS-FMQAI quality improvement projects (QIP’s), data analysis/aggregation published by public and private organizations.
- Skilled in clinical data collection, aggregation, and analysis.
- Effective communications (writing, listening, and speaking).
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office products.
Ability to remain objective, and maintain/promote confidentiality
Job Summary:
The Quality Analyst role involves gathering information from the medical record and other sources for review which will be utilized in identifying areas for educational opportunities for providers to improve care and outcomes.
