You Will Be Responsible For:

Patient Access Central Scheduling:

  • Accountable for day to day functions of all areas of Scheduling/Pre-Registration/Pre-Authorization/Order Management Department.  Ensures all incoming call queues are answered timely to maintain team performance goals, accounts are created, benefits verified and insurance authorization is obtained in a timely manner with appropriate follow up for account completion and professional up-front collections  
  • Responsible for achieving annual scheduling scorecard metrics such as abandonment rate, service level and calls per hour.  Monitors call volumes and alerts Scheduling/Pre-Access Senior Rep if backlog is greater than three calls, or longest wait is one minute or longer.  Takes incoming queue calls as needed to maintain team performance goals.  Strives to keep schedulers focused and available for calls by resolving issues and questions as needed.  Manages all incoming call queues and staff to ensure speed to answer calls.
  • Monitors call volumes and alerts scheduling team leads if backlog is greater than three calls or longest wait is one minute or longer.  Takes incoming queue calls as needed to maintain team performance goals.  Strives to keep schedulers focused and available for calls by resolving issues and questions as needed.  Manages all incoming call queues and staff to ensure speed to answer goals.
  • Maintains skill level and knowledge by reading scheduling updates, attending training sessions and completing study materials provided by Outpatient Scheduling and departments.  Completes department compentencies with a score of 90% or higher.
  • Responsible for staff schedules, timesheets, PDO requests.

Qualifications
What You Will Need:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Must be proficient in the English language.
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Must be able to interact with the public and staff at all levels.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Knowledge of insurance plans preferred
 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School diploma/equivalent required.
  • Minimum two (2) or more years in Patient Access/Patient Financial Services department or related area as defined above.
  • College education or coursework in business or healthcare. Or related field
 
 
Job Summary:

Under Management, accountable for the day to day functions of Patient Access under areas of responsibility (Central Scheduling, Pre-Registration, Pre-authorization, Frontline Registration, Customer Service, Emergency Department Registration, Patient Transfer/Rollover task, Inpatient Insurance Authorizations, Financial Counseling, North lake County Healthcare District charity, etc.) ensuring all patient accounts are scheduled, created, insurance verified and authorized, in a timely manner with appropriate follow up for account completion and professional up-front collections in all areas.  Oversees the day to day operations of Financial Assistance to ensure effective control points are in place, is responsible for monitoring initial process of Self-Pay accounts during pre-registration, registration and at discharge.  Ensures team success in meeting and exceeding stated monthly campus collection goals and NLCHD charity goals to protect financial standing of AdventHealth Waterman.  Assesses the work performance of assigned employees, along with being able to interact in a professional manner with patients in collection procedures and billing questions.  Makes self available to provide team members with tools and training needed to assist in meeting accuracy standard goals, minimize department registration errors, rejections, and avoidable denials.  Specifically takes responsibility for patient satisfaction and employee engagement scores, meeting goals set by AdventHealth Waterman.  Accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.  Adheres to AdventHealth Waterman Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.
