Work Hours/Shift:

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Demonstrates functional knowledge of one of the following applications: QS/1 Data Systems, Asembia, Arxium, Web Refill, or other retail pharmacy information systems
  • Serves as a contributing member of the Retail Pharmacy Information Systems team, dedicated to the development of electronic documentation solutions that support best-practice clinical workflow and business processes.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of processes within the facility department. 
  • Ability to recommend customization of the application for unique department scenarios and build using application tools with minimal assistance from team members and/or the manager.
  • Designs, builds, and tests clinical and business application components and makes necessary changes using build tools with little direction and assistance from team members or the manager. 
  • Communicates necessary changes made in the application amongst team members and site contacts as appropriate
  • Develops and maintains system design documentation and outlines build steps using appropriate tools with some direction and assistance from team members or the manager. 
  • Participates in team meetings, project meetings, and other meetings when requested. 
  • Understands how to plan and coordinate special projects using project management skills, tools, and AHS-IS methodologies with assistance from team members, the manager and/or the project manager.
  • Collaborates with retail pharmacy leadership, pharmacists, pharm techs, clinicians, end users, vendors and associates to develop and deploy electronic applications or new functionality.
  • Assesses clinical workflow and business processes, identifies gaps, defines necessary process changes, and develops future workflows related to the implementation of new solutions or functionality.
  • Assists the training team in the preparation of training materials and provides education on new applications or functionality.  May conduct train-the-trainer, super-user, upgrade and/or other training with moderate direction from team members or the manager. 
  • Actively participates in facility support through solution implementation, activation, and post-live support.

What You Will Need:
  • Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR equivalent experience in healthcare or healthcare IT
  • Minimum two years of IT or Retail Pharmacy experience
  • Experience with major clinical IT platforms
  • Experience developing and implementing clinical, service, and/or operational process improvement initiatives on both the small and large scale
Job Summary:

The Retail Pharmacy Information Systems (Intermediate) provides support and optimization of a standard clinical care process across retail pharmacy, mail-order pharmacy, and bedside delivery pharmacy workflows as well as providing continuity between all their respective platforms. Leveraging their retail pharmacy knowledge, the Retail Pharmacy Information Systems (Intermediate) is expected to acquire a comprehensive understanding of system build and implementation, the ability to analyze and understand clinical and business problems, and the knowledge to make solution recommendations that meet the organizational goals of maintaining clinical and business systems. They are dedicated to providing a secure, effective, integrated patientcare delivery systems that continually improves outcomes, reduces cost, increases efficiency, and enhances patients’ experiences. Primary responsibilities include collaborating with retail pharmacy leaders and end users of the system to support design, build, test, train, implement, evaluate, and maintain a retail pharmacy information system, and other associated systems.
