GENERAL SUMMARY: 

Under limited supervision, manages the implementation and operation of the AdventHealth Central Florida Division North Region assigned Facility(s) Security Management program.  Assesses security threats to the hospital and assists in planning appropriate strategies and countermeasures.  Reviews and analyzes data and devises risk minimization programs. Works with the Director of Facilities to ensure consistent Security Operations at all locations.  Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.


Qualifications
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversees Security operations, parking and traffic enforcement for assigned facility(s) campus within the Central Florida Division North Region of AdventHealth.
• Remains visible and interfaces directly with administration, physicians, employees, contractors and customers in a manner which reflects our Service Standards.
• Continuously monitors and ensures that Security Operations are evaluated and compliant with AdventHealth Policies, Procedures, Licensing, and the Physical Environment Security Management System requirements as outlined by The Joint Commission. 
• Assists with budget preparation, analyzes financial statements, and takes necessary actions to control and reduce costs.  Ensures adequate supplies are available and within budget constraints for assigned areas.
• Hires, coaches, and terminates staff; remains objective when dealing with personnel issues; seeks input and provides consistent and timely feedback; remains accessible and visible to staff; communicates consistently with staff; coordinates and participates in security training and development programs; schedules and maintains Security coverage.
• Is knowledgeable of electronic access control, intrusion detection, and fire systems.
• Assists with the Parking Decal program, issuing decals to new employees and maintaining database.
• Dispenses and tracks Visitor Badges, issuing per policy.
• Manages sensitive security records, databases, and reporting documents. 
• Recommends and participates in the development of and establishes security policy and procedures; establishes and implements short and long range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates program effectiveness; affects changes required for improvements.
• Serves on requested committees to promote increased security awareness and sets an example of extraordinary customer service to security supervisors and officers.
• May be required to present at New Employee Orientation.
• Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Strong organization, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage Security personnel, including organization, scheduling, and prioritizing work assignments.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, with heavy emphasis on Customer Service.
• Intermediate computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and the ability to operate security related software, and physical security systems (including, but not limited to CCTV, access control, duress alarms, etc.).
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and develop alternative solutions.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment that includes frequent interruptions, changes in priorities, and under stress.
• Compliance with maintaining confidentiality in all matters pertaining to patients, visitors and/or employees.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
• Ability to compile, review and summarize federal, state and local laws and regulations that affect the safe and secure operation of facility.
• Ability to develop budgets at the department level


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Five (5) years of supervisory experience in General Security, Military, Civilian Law Enforcement, Emergency Management or a combination of these fields with heavy customer contact.
• Associates Degree with course work in security, law enforcement, or emergency management, OR 

• Completion of an equivalent program of instruction at an accredited vocational educational facility, OR 
• Three years of experience in Healthcare Security


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
• Previous verifiable experience in a Healthcare Security setting.
• Formal training and experience with the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS), specifically FEMA ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800
• Bachelors degree in business administration with significant relevant coursework in psychology, sociology, criminal justice, or a related field of study. 


LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
• State of Florida Class E drivers license and driving record in accordance with AdventHealth Policy
• International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic Training Certification program. If applicant is not currently certified, must be completed within the first 180 days of employment
• International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Certified Advanced Healthcare Security Officer (CAHSO) and Certified Healthcare Security Supervisor (CHSS). If applicant is not currently certified, must be completed within the first year of employment.


LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:
• State of Florida Class Security License
• Completion of Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) training
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified
