The successful candidate can expect to work in an integrated external beam environment with Eclipse/Aria (v 13.7) and Varian linear accelerators (Trilogy and Truebeam platforms). External beam services at all sites include: IMRT/VMAT, IGRT, SBRT, SRT, DIBH, and respiratory gating. Every campus has a CT simulator suite including three radiation oncology dedicated, 64-slice Siemens Confidence Dual Energy CT scanner complete with IV contrast, IMAR, 4DCT, and direct laser steering capabilities. 

At our main campus, we work in conjunction with the hospital’s highly regarded department of neurosurgery to deliver SRS treatments via our Gamma Knife Perfexion unit. CT and MRI guided HDR treatments are delivered in our dedicated 4-stretcher brachytherapy suite utilizing Elekta’s Flexitron afterloader and Oncentra planning system. Our program also serves as a training site for Elekta brachytherapy products.

Other lines of service offered in our departments include IORT, Y-90 therapy, and radiopharmaceutical treatments. Florida has no state income tax and boasts great weather you can enjoy year-round.  Work Hours/Shift:

•           Full Time

You Will Be Responsible For:   
  • Supports the administration of the radiation safety program, including compliance with all regulating and certifying agencies, training of staff and supervision of source ordering, handling, waste removal and disposal.
  • Actively participates in developing new programs and technologies such as information management, treatment planning and new modalities.
  • Performs weekly chart reviews and other checks of treatment plans.
  • Performs dosimetric calculations for external beam, brachytherapy and radiopharma-ceutical therapy.
  • Provides medical physics consultation to physicians, staff and patients as needed.
  • Participates in the quality assurance of linear accelerators, simulators, HDR units and any other radiation therapy treatment device.

Qualifications
What Will You Need:        
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Minimum of five years of clinical radiation therapy physics’ experience
 

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

  • Current active State of Florida licensure in Therapeutic Medical Physics
  • Current certification by the American Board of Radiology or American Board of Medical Physics in Therapeutic Medical Physics
