Work Hours/Shift:
You Will Be Responsible For:
- Exercise professional judgment in performance of services, maintaining a caring demeanor.
- Excellent communication skills with patients and family.
- Properly position patient and equipment, and manipulate technical factors, to achieve high quality images for interpretation.
- Administer medical aid as required for any emergency situation.
- Wear protective apparel as required by Standard Precautions policy. Apply sterile technique for sterile Sonography procedures.
- Perform all other duties as necessary to ensure patient satisfaction and quality exams.
Qualifications
What You Will Need:
- High School graduate or equivalent is required.
- Graduate of an accredited school of sonography.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in either obstetric and perinatal sonography, urogynecology sonography and/or other specialized diagnostic studies is preferred. A history of working with a Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist, Urogynecologist and/or other specialty trained physicians in the past is preferred.
- Demonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements
- Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) is required.
- BLS required
- Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographers preferred
Job Summary:
The Sonographer – Women’s Specialty Care performs diagnostic sonographic imaging of fetal and maternal anatomy, urinary and gynecologic anatomy or any other diagnostic studies as deemed necessary by the physician for interpretation and/or intervention. This individual assists the primatologist, urogynecologist and/or other physician specialist in patient care and procedures.
