Work Hours/Shift:

You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Support the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

  • Comply with organizational policies, regulatory and accreditation standards, and professional guidelines.

  • Contributes to new staff orientation and to students learning by serving as a preceptor when required.

  • Exhibit professional interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Assist with identifying pertinent evidence to establish benchmarks as directed.

  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality of individuals and health information.

  • Has knowledge of and understands current JC Standards for the clinical aspect of the department.

  • Upholds professional standards of performance and conduct

  • Any additional duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrated ability to work under stressful conditions

  • Ability to work irregular hours including call hours

  • One year of sterile processing experience as a surgical technician and/or

  • One-year perioperative experience as a surgical technician and/or One-year Endoscopy experience as a surgical technician

  • Function as a scrub person during operative and other invasive procedures as needed by:

    • assembling supplies and equipment required for the procedure;

    • preparing and organizing sterile supplies and instruments for the procedure;

    • performing accounting procedures in concert with the RN circulator;

    • assisting with placement of sterile drapes;

    • providing instruments and supplies to the surgical team during the procedure;

    • maintaining an organized sterile field;
    • ensuring sterility of the field and taking corrective actions as needed; and

    • preparing sterile dressings.




Qualifications
What You Will Need:
  • Ability to function at a high level in a physically demanding, high-stress environment

  • Demonstrated ability to work under stressful conditions

  • Ability to work irregular hours including call hours

  • One year of sterile processing experience as a surgical technician and/or

  • One-year perioperative experience as a surgical technician and/or

  • One-year Endoscopy experience as a surgical technician

    • Three years of sterile processing experience preferred

    • Computer skills preferred
  • Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program and/or

  • Completed an appropriate training program for surgical technology in the United States Armed Forces and

  • BLS Certification required

    • Central Supply Processing Department Technician (CSPDT) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification preferred

    • Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) certification preferred

    • Certified Surgical Technologist preferred

Job Summary:

Responsible for preparing and assembling medical and surgical supplies, instrumentation, and equipment, maintaining the sterile processing areas, and receiving and distributing surgical supplies and equipment
