The role you'll contribute:

Provide quality patient care to all patients within the medical imaging department. Perform high quality images and exams on patients while maintaining the sensitivity to patient needs. Follows standards of safe radiation practice. Demonstrates leadership abilities and is a role model for other associate technologists. Acts as a clinical resource to unit personnel and assures current standards of practice for the unit.

The value you'll bring to the team:

  • Cleans, decontaminates, inspects, assembles, and wraps or packages supplies and instruments using proper techniques and procedures.

  • Sterilizes supplies and instruments using the prescribed method (e.g. steam, gas plasma (Sterrad). Operates washer/decontaminator per department policy and procedure. Understands the basic principles of all sterilization equipment used in the department.

  • Assures cleanliness of decontamination, sterilization, and equipment areas. Validates the proper functioning of all equipment using established mechanical and biological monitors. Assures that sterilized supplies and instruments are correctly labeled and stored in a manner to ensure sterility and understands that all storage areas are to be in compliance with any applicable regulatory guidelines.

  • Demonstrates technical skills needed to establish and maintain High-Level Disinfection (HLD) processes.

  • Maintains CRCST or CBSPD certification.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

Required:

  • High School Diploma OR GED

  • Registered Radiology Technologist, American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (R.T.) (R), Vascular-Interventional Radiology (VI) or Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology (CV), Registered Surgical Tech (Department of Regulatory Agencies) Comment: Tech Registry upon hire unless performing Surgical Assistant duties within the scope of another active Colorado license, certification, or registration (required for Colorado employed staff only).

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association

Preferred:

  • Associate's degree

  • One year imaging experience strongly preferred.

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support American Heart Association.
