The role you’ll contribute:

The Neurodiagnostic Tech II is a mid-level specialist position. The Neurodiagnostic Tech II performs procedures appropriate to their competence, according to the facility policy and procedures, including test setup, electrode application, maintaining patient safety and other related duties.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Applies electrodes in accordance with the ACNS guidelines.

  • Performs prescribed testing.

  • May perform video EEG monitoring in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit

  • Reviews patient’s history and educates patient about procedure.

  • Monitors and documents patient’s condition and responds to and reports and adverse events reactions.

  • Identifies and corrects for artifacts.

  • Edits and forwards results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation.

  • Scores/graphs, analyses, documents and reports results of diagnostic procedures.

  • On call requirement per department policy.

  • Helps train Tech I and Students

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

  • Graduation from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Neurodiagnostic Program, or an Associate’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university is desired

  • 2 years of experience in performance of procedures in a patient care environment

  • BLS American Heart Association

  • Has passed examination and obtained the credential appropriate to the modality of practice (ie. R. EEGT. or r. EPT.)
