Shift : Monday thru Friday 6:45A - 3:15P

The role you’ll contribute:

Schedules resources for Imaging exams and procedures to maximize patient convenience and efficiency of resource utilization. Proficiently schedules and pre-registers patients for tests in Imaging Services, Diagnostics, Pain Medicine, Sports Medicine, and/or Rehab, across campuses, using a computerized scheduling system. Provides special instructions for procedures and directions to facilities and departments. Works with Patient Financial Services to complete or verify accurate completion of numerous pre-visit tasks. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful of all.

  1. Call Performance: Maintains established performance levels. Is available to take scheduling calls from both patients and physician offices at all times while also actively scheduling patients through faxed requisitions received in the department.

  2. Scheduling Performance: Creates patient accounts, schedules appointments and pre-registers patients striving to minimize patient and physician inconvenience through accurate and comprehensive collection of information required for scheduling, pre-registration, pre-certification (where possible) of ancillary procedures (and other study types if applicable).

  3. Pre-Access Performance: Works closely with the Outpatient Care Coordinator and Patient Financial Services to ensure that all required information is collected in a timely fashion to ensure efficient patient imaging studies are performed and appropriately documented for accurate billing.

  4. Accuracy: Enters accurate information in Scheduling and Registration systems with minimal errors. Validates updates and/or corrects errors or mistakes found in system to expedite patient care. Carefully and courteously handles customer interaction in a way that preserves customer confidence in Florida Hospital and its ancillary services. Reports on errors and mistakes found in system to promote education, coaching and training opportunities of others where appropriate.

  5. Efficiency: Validates work done in PFS for each scheduled event in a timely fashion (not applicable to cc 4333). Obtains any necessary required financial, historical, clinical or patient information through contact with Patient, Physician offices, Insurance carriers or other information providers. Analyzes required information for each account and completes data collection in a minimum number of encounters. Gathers imaging required Labs (BUN & Creatinine) for required patients (not applicable to 4333). Uses time wisely and avoids unnecessary or repetitive tasks that may impact department goals.

The following duties also apply to cost center 0420:

• Answers all incoming phone calls for the Imaging Department

• Burns CDs and prints films of patient exams

  1. Customer Service: Delivers excellent customer service fulfilling the Florida Hospital Mission of extending the healing Ministry of Christ. Pleasant tone of voice, friendly and helpful attitude, keeps conversation focused collecting required data. Handles phone calls promptly and efficiently. Attempts to resolve all customer issues prior to exam event and without involving other departments or supervisors.

  2. Service Skills: Participates in Customer Service workshops and seminars as recommended by Director. Completes Customer Service exercises and lessons provided by Florida Hospital. Submits results of required competencies or tests on time.

  3. Teamwork: Is respectful of co-workers and offers assistance as needed to help others complete assigned tasks. Works closely as a component of the Intake team (Scheduler(s), Outpatient Care Representative, Outpatient Care Coordinator, and Outpatient Concierge) to ensure high Patient and referring Physician satisfaction with FH ancillary services. Participates in activities that promote camaraderie and a friendly workplace. Willingly and enthusiastically participates in team/department initiatives. Readily voices concerns and problems to managers/supervisors.

Minimum qualifications :

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert

Preferred qualifications:

• College education or coursework in medical terminology and/or coding
