Shift : Monday – Friday, typically 8am-4:30pm

The role you’ll contribute:

The Clinical Coordinator Supervisor (CCS) is a registered, professional nurse who supports the Senior Nurse Manager in the overall operations of the assigned organ Transplant programs. The CCS would be based in our exciting and thriving transplant program in Orlando with the full AdventHealth healthcare system support (50 hospitals in nine states including 30 in Florida). The individual would play an integral role on a comprehensive team including surgeons, transplant physicians, coordinators, dieticians, pharmacists, therapists and social workers. Collectively our multi-organ transplant team performs over 60 hearts, 20 lungs, 30-50 mechanical circulatory support devices, 55 livers (adult and pediatric) and 170 kidneys (living donor, adult and pediatric) per year. The AdventHealth Transplant Institute is located just outside downtown Orlando and close to the charming Winter Park community.

The CCS exhibits critical thinking skills, creativity, and has the experience to manage resources to achieve quality performance, positive employee relations, and compliance with hospital and other regulatory guidelines. This individual is skilled in coaching, mentoring, and leading a professional and technical team in the delivery of quality care and services to our broad patient population. He/she/they serve as a champion of change management and work to lead effective implementation of process and culture improvement within the department. The CCS actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Performance Improvement

  • Supports performance improvement activities in the department through problem identification, assessment, data gathering, change implementation, and evaluation of outcomes

  • Is actively involved in all aspects of patient safety in the department including but not limited to: monitoring sentinel events and reporting, root cause analysis, regulatory requirements, incident reporting, transplant policies and procedures.

Lead the Team

  • Monitors performance of the staff and reports findings to the senior nurse manager or takes corrective action for improvement as appropriate. Uses independent judgement to make recommendations to supervisor regarding:

  • Applicant selection for interview and input into the hiring process after actively participating in the interview process.

Actively participate in surveys (on-site and desktop) from regulatory and licensing agencies. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Maintains a current understanding of changes in respect to accrediting bodies

  • Participate in preparation for regulatory surveys, such as UNOS, Medicare, JCAHO, and DNV

  • Serves as an expert resource and point-of-contact on clinical and protocol-related issues

  • Assists with the on-boarding, training and professional development of Uncertified Clinical Coordinator(s) and mentorship of select individuals within the transplant programs.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in acute care setting

At least two (2) years of previous transplant/MCS coordinator

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in the health sciences, nursing or other related field required.

At least one (1) year of Nursing Case Management experience

At least one (1) year of Teaching/Preceptor experience

Clinical Coordinator Transplant Certification (CCTC) by the American Board of Transplant Certification (ABTC) or Certified Clinical Transplant Nurse (CCTN)

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

Current Florida Registered Nurse licensure

Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS)

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:

Advanced Circulatory Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association
