The role you’ll contribute:

As the leader of AdventHealth's Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Department, the Executive Director leads and executes the clinical learning strategy in partnership with senior executive leadership across the Central Florida Division (CFD). They drive a learning and growth strategy that supports a culture of innovation and promotes ongoing professional development. They partner with division and local leaders to identify and assess learning gaps and align them to talent development strategies and organizational priorities. They lead and drive technology integration into appropriate programming while supporting workforce development and onboarding of new clinical staff utilizing state of the art simulation learning technology. They oversee initiatives that include developing and executing programming for leaders and team members at the emerging, operational, and strategic levels, role-specific training for clinical staff and leaders, and clinical support roles. They lead the teams in the creation of strategic business partnerships at the organizational, campus and divisional levels, while also partnering with AdventHealth University.

  • Leads a team focused on developing and executing a system-wide learning and development strategy, including leadership development and programming, clinical programming, clinical onboarding, and career development at all levels.

  • Develops and integrates critical thinking simulations and skills training into new hire orientations and clinical curriculum to improve and standardize new employees' performance. Develops strategies to assess training needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and consultation with managers or others to identify needs and develop an aligned curriculum of programs, on-line tools, and resources

  • Oversees metrics and ensures tracking mechanisms are put in place to enhance programs and processes; Builds accountability and measures results for consistent integrated solutions across the organization; Leads development of learning dashboards to measure effectiveness.

  • Develops strategic partnerships in the community including hospital/healthcare industry and academia; Promotes standard work and best practice strategies across the division where possible

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in relevant field

  • 10 years of experience leading cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in a relevant discipline

  • Current valid State of Florida license as a Registered Nurse

  • National certification in a relevant field

  • Experience leading clinical education and simulation

  • Executive-level presentation skills

  • Operational and strategic understanding of finance strategies and finance-related performance metrics

  • High degree of initiative and ability to lead multiple cross-functional teams, work under pressure and meet deadlines as required
