The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealth Riverview

  • AdventHealth is expanding our medical expertise, innovation, and state-of-the-art technology to southern Hillsborough County through a brand-new hospital in Riverview, which is scheduled to open in 2024.

  • The new AdventHealth Riverview hospital will include 82 beds at time of opening with space to expand to 202 beds in the future.

  • This $250 million project in Riverview also includes a 100,000 square foot, four-story Medical Office Building that will provide community members convenient access to expert care.

  • AdventHealth Riverview will offer a wide range of health care services which includes emergency, cardiovascular, digestive, urology, orthopedic and women’s care.

The role you’ll contribute:

The endoscopy technologist actively participates in the preparation and management of supply inventories, endoscopic equipment, endo room suite readiness and clinical/technical assistance as directed while performing GI endoscopic procedures. This position requires knowledge of GI flexible endoscopes & instrumentation, the ability to prepare and or assemble complex mechanical devices, sequential planning, and knowledge of fundamental anatomy, strong anticipatory skills and dexterity. This position is also responsible to keep abreast of new products, procedures and physician techniques. The endoscopy technologist supports GI services to provide an effective and safe patient/staff environment. All activities associated with the role of the endoscopy technologist are under the direct supervision of the GI registered nurse and gastroenterologist. S/he is accountable for working within the parameters of their certification guidelines, regulatory standards, established policies, protocols and procedures; and utilizes other pertinent references as guidelines for clinical practice.

  • Ensures endoscopy suite is adequately prepared for procedure

  • Monitors PAR level of all endoscopy instruments and supplies

  • Follows written procedures for high-level disinfection; knows responsibilities and the necessity for chemical and biological monitoring.

  • Provides supportive care to patients under the direct supervision of an RN and physician.

  • Provides treatments and procedures as indicated and within the defined scope of practice

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Endoscopy training program completion

  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
