AdventHealth Redmond is a 230 bed facility, serving as a regional referral source for all of northwest Georgia and parts of Alabama. AdventHealth Redmond offers a full array of inpatient and outpatient programs, many of which are unique to the northwest Georgia region. As an Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI, Redmond provides a full-service cardiology product line and is nationally recognized as a top cardiac center. In addition to the Gold Seal of Approval, Redmond has also earned eight disease specific certifications from the Joint Commission for outstanding care in the areas of cardiology, stroke, orthopedic surgery, spinal surgery, and vascular surgery. Other areas of excellence include emergency care, oncology, and inpatient rehabilitation.

The role you’ll contribute:

The clinical staff pharmacist is responsible for providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients throughout the hospital while also supervising and managing the activities of pharmacy technicians. They work as part of a healthcare team to ensure the safe and effective use of medications and maintain efficient pharmacy operations. The clinical staff pharmacist reviews medication orders, optimizes medication therapy, dispenses medications, provides medication therapy management, counsels patients, reconciles medications, provides drug information, manages adverse drug events, participates in quality improvement initiatives, collaborates with healthcare professionals, ensures compliance with regulations, and engages in continuous professional development.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

· Perform all pharmacist functions, actively participate in established standard work procedures and parameters.

· Maintain functional proficiency in and actively provide coverage of central pharmacy as needed.

· Oversee and ensure appropriate utilization of medication automation, technology, and computer systems.

· Accurately oversee the management of medication inventories and the preparation and dispensing of patient-specific medication doses.

· Dispense medications accurately and efficiently, including compounding, repackaging, and preparing intravenous medications.

· Supervise and manage the activities of pharmacy technicians, residents, and interns, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. Prioritize workload, organize workflow, and verify accuracy of pharmacy technician, resident, and intern activities.

· Assure continuity of care between shifts, among pharmacy staff assignments, and across pharmacy practice areas.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

· Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited school of pharmacy or equivalent

· Current pharmacist licensure in the state of Georgia
