The role you’ll contribute:

The Shipping Manager is responsible for all activities regarding Rx Plus/Expedien Rx shipping staff and processes. This position coordinates the day to day activities related to restocking supplies, proper packing procedures, processing returns, and shipping medications in timely completion in accordance to the pharmacy’s stated goals. Manages vendor relationships ensuring compliance to contracts and facilitation of special deliveries to include all shipping vendors. The Shipping Manager hires, trains and manages members of the shipping staff and is required to understand all pharmacy processes excluding Pharmacist’s duties.

  • Recommends processes, ensures all Shipping functions are completed and provides leadership pertaining to packing and shipping, ensuring performance meets customer and patient requirements.

  • Lead staff to execute processes and procedures effectively, providing leadership and guidance on automation throughput to include packing medications and shipping, pharmacy processes and additional training as necessary.

  • Coordinate shipping schedules, monitor pickup, delivery, or distribution of medication, products and materials.

  • Responsible for the integrity of patient sensitive material included in prescription orders, ensuring no violation of patient protected health information occurs

  • Performs annual testing of all pharmacy pack outs and plays an active role in pharmacy’s continuous improvement efforts, working with other departments to achieve and maintain high service level.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Logistics or Business-related field required

  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification, CPhT; complete national required continuing education requirement for certification.

  • 5 years retail, specialty, central fill or mail-order pharmacy technician experience.
