The role you’ll contribute:

This position is under the direct supervision of the Oncology Director or designee. The Imaging Navigator is responsible for coordination across the full continuum of care from screening to detection, diagnosis, treatment and survivorship follow up. The overall goal is to ensure patients are effectively and efficiently navigated through the health care system receiving appropriate physician support and educational services throughout their journey. The Imaging Navigator functions as a liaison for management staff, administration, physicians, managed care companies, community organizations and other customers. The Imaging Navigator will interface with the breast health team and assist with the coordination of all aspects of screening mammography, diagnostic imaging, clinical evaluation, support services and education for women receiving services in the Breast Center. The Imaging Navigator serves as a primary point of intake; ensuring patients have appropriate, timely medical and supportive services. In addition, this position supports: data collection, tumor board processes/participation and marketing/ community outreach efforts.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

· Responsible for knowing all policies, procedures and protocols of the Breast Center and Cancer Center.

· Facilitate the navigation of patients, as the single point of contact, through the imaging/cancer pathway. Ensure efficient and coordinated services through the screening, diagnosis, treatment and support/educational services.

· Verify accuracy of order and ensure it is scanned into medical record prior to testing in conjunction with patient financial services team.

· Assist with facilitating an evidence-based, multidisciplinary, multi-specialty approach to breast cancer care throughout the diagnostic continuum.

· Establish and maintain positive open communication (verbal and written) and relationships with; referring physicians, surgeons, radiologists, radiation oncologists and medical oncologist to provide quality care to patients with cancer health concerns.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

· Must be a graduate of an accredited minimum 2-year Allied Health Degree ((ARRT, RN/LPN, CTR)

· Minimum of 3 years of oncology and/or radiology clinical or scheduling experience.

· Associates degree

· ARRT, CTR, RN
