AdventHealth Fellowship Trained Breast Surgeon in Shawnee, Kansas

Located in Suburban Kansas City, AdventHealth is a three hospital system searching for a highly skilled fellowship trained breast surgeon, to join our dedicated team of experts. Our candidate must be well-trained, completed a fellowship in breast surgery, and able to work in a collaborative team environment.

The Cancer Center at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission opened in 2014 and is the only certified member of MD Anderson Cancer Network®, a program of MD Anderson Cancer Center, in Kansas City. Our Cancer Center quickly gained a reputation for exceptional care in the Kansas City Metro. As the next step in our mission to support the needs of our community, Advent Health has begun construction on a 71,000 sq ft , three story facility, state of the art Cancer Center that will triple the size of the current Cancer Center.

Our multidisciplinary team works closely with our dedicated surgeons, pathologists, pharmacists, psychologists, and social workers. This collaboration allows for following best practice and delivering quality care to our patients. There are weekly multidisciplinary tumor conferences and AH providers have direct access to MD Anderson providers for complex consultations and patients requesting 2 nd opinions.

Our breast program was the 1 st in Kansas City to be NAPBC accredited. It I also certified by the American College of Surgeons and is an ACR Center of Excellence. Today, our team consists of Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology, Gynecologic-Oncology Surgeons, Dedicated Breast Surgeons, and other specialists all working together to create an individualized treatment plan for each patient. The Cancer program has on-site radiation therapy, including a strong HDR program, a 16-chair infusion center, PET/CT, and a full complement of support services. Fellowship trained breast radiologists provide interpretations and procedural services in our screening and diagnostic breast center.

This is an employment opportunity with AdventHealth Medical Group. We are a 165+ provider multi-specialty group including 14 primary care offices.
