The role you’ll contribute:

The Medical Staff Coordinator deals with a multitude of complexities regarding issues involving in the medical staff office often times requiring technical skills and decision making. Assures that Joint Commission standards are met. Has expertise and knowledge in all forms of written communications and serves as a valuable aid/resource in medical staff work. Attends meetings and provides guidance to officers, committee and department chairpersons and ensures initial action and follow-up actions are taken. Is supportive of administrative and hospital policies, procedures and decisions. Assists in all aspects of credentialing and privileging. Coordinates the emergency department call schedule. Performs other duties as requested by the Medical Staff Manager

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Assures that physicians have privileges for procedures they are performing within the hospital and that requests for privileges are supported by adequate documentation regarding education, training and experience. This includes daily review of surgery schedule for appropriateness of procedures and accuracy

  • Assists in all aspects of credentialing and privileging reappointments and initial appointments as needed

  • Maintains professional standards and ethics of the medical staff services office

  • Assists medical staff leadership in fulfilling responsibilities of their offices and appointments

  • Review, update and maintain Department Rules and Regulations, credentialing criteria, and privilege request forms

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • 1 to 2 Years of Position-Related Experience

  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferred
