The role you’ll contribute:

The nurse manager is responsible for planning, staffing, organizing and coordinating the operations of the emergency department. The nurse manager is responsible for developing and implementing the policies, procedures, and standards of the unit. Additionally, this person ensures the highest quality and standards of care for the patients in the Emergency Department and aligns with the Department Director to meet and aim to exceed organizational goals. This position will have 24/7 accountability for the ED.

  • Oversees daily operations and staff performance to ensure care for patient/family is provided according to AHS hospital standards and activities ensuring the best patient/family experience.

  • Collaborates with ED Director to assess, plan, and evaluate patient experience trends. Communicates with courtesy when interacting with internal and external customers.

  • Demonstrates respect for co-workers and develops positive working relationships with other departments.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

  • BS or BSN, or currently enrolled in a program (Nursing or related field)

  • Three years of experience as a registered nurse in caring for patients in emergency care setting.

  • Must have at least two years of experience in working in a charge nurse or supervisor/leadership role

  • Current Florida RN license

  • BLS, ACLS, PALS

  • NIHSS from Know Stroke (NIHSS must be from either American Heart Association, Know Stroke, or APEX)

  • Certified in emergency nursing (CEN) preferred

  • Certified in pediatric emergency nursing (CPEN) preferred

  • TNCC preferred

  • NRP preferred

  • ENPC preferred
