The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealth Tampa
· AdventHealth Pepin Heart Institute, known across the country for its advances in cardiovascular disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment and research.
· Surgical Pioneers – the first in Tampa with the latest robotics in spine surgery
· Building a brand new, six story surgical and patient care tower which will ensure state of the art medical and surgical car for generations to come
· Awarded the Get With The Guidelines – Stroke GOLD Quality Achievement Award from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association and have been recognized as a recipient of their Target: Stroke Honor Roll for our expertise in stroke care. The role you’ll contribute:
Professional nurse who provides leadership in the development of staff education at the unit level in compliance with regulatory agencies in conjunction with the hospital mission, management and physician expectation. The educator combines clinical expertise and passion for teaching in both the classroom and practice setting, preparing and mentoring current and future generations of nurses. The Nurse educator plays a pivotal role in strengthening the nursing workforce, serving as a role model and providing the leadership needed to implement evidence-based practice.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
· Incorporates principles of adult learning in planning, implementation, and evaluation of education programs.
· Plans, prepares, and maintains materials for use in educational programs for accuracy and relevance to the target audience.
· Adheres to attendance standards when teaching/facilitating a class ensuring set up is completed prior to class start.
· Assists with students and practicing nurses to identify their learning needs, strengths and opportunities and develop learning activities to grow skill set based on learning needs.
· Coordinates orientation of new staff including agency into the organization.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :
· Bachelor of Science in Nursing with 3 years of in-patient nursing experience OR Bachelor of Science in Nursing with 3 years of in-patient nursing and 0–1-year education experience (hospital or academic) OR Master of Science in Nursing with 3 years of in-patient nursing experience AND 0 years of education experience
· Current registration with Florida State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse or licensure from another state with verification of application and eligibility for Florida licensure by endorsement
· Current in American Heart Association Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support
· PALS/NRP based on unit coverage (must obtain within 90 days of hire if required by unit)
