The role you’ll contribute:

The sleep center Assistant Manager works under the general supervision of the medical director of the Sleep Disorders Center and Director of Respiratory Services to provide operational coordination of team members, comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in and out of sleep center testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care, direct patient education, and support of the department by planning, managing, and evaluating all service functions and activities to ensure delivery of optimal quality patient care and organizational effectiveness. In addition to proficiency in all competencies related to sleep technology, the sleep Assistant Manager participates with clinical evaluation, diagnostic and therapeutic testing, home therapy, patient education and compliance management. Education and management of patients with sleep disorders requires understanding of the multifaceted disease processes that affect both sleep and wakefulness. The sleep Assistant Manager is credentialed in sleep technology, able to provide oversight of other sleep center staff, and demonstrates abilities to interact with physicians and other health care providers in a professional manner.

The Assistant Manager also achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change; and daily management of all employee relations of direct reports under the direction of the Director of Respiratory Services.

  • Evaluation and management of sleep disorders

  • Maintain proficiency in the domains of practice of the sleep technologist.

  • Ability to perform all different types of sleep studies and adjust schedule to meet patient and department needs when permitted.

  • Ability to score sleep studies when there is a backlog.

  • Comply with applicable laws, regulation, guidelines and standards regarding safety and infection control.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

  • Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (RPSGT) certification required.

  • Current American Heart Association BLS Certification Required

  • Successful completion of an accredited PSG educational program leading to a certificate from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sleep technology profession.

  • Competency with practice and clinical guidelines for Polysomnography/Sleep Disorders required by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists.

  • Documented proficiency for all competencies required by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists required.

  • Knowledge and ability to stage, read and score studies required.

  • Evaluation and management of sleep disorders required.
