Job Description:
Schedule: Full-time, Three (3) 12-hour shifts
Shift: Nights, 5:30 pm – 6:00 am (with weekend rotation)

- We have assembled a world-class team of doctors, specialists, nurses and health care professionals that utilizes some of the most advanced technologies, therapies and treatments available to care for our patients. This includes 140 pediatric specialists practicing 35 subspecialties and 800+ Pediatric specialty trained staff.
- For a second time, the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) has granted AdventHealth for Children Magnet® recognition, which establishes the hospital as a national leader in nursing and patient care. Only seven-percent of the nation’s hospitals have received this recognition.
Practices autonomously in accordance with professional nursing standards and departmental protocols, assessing, interpreting, and reporting diagnostic data relative to patient age and condition. Administers and calculates medications, monitoring patient responses according to protocols. Conducts comprehensive patient assessments and documents findings accurately. Provides emergency care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Transports patients safely, remaining alert to hazards and using radio communications effectively. Obtains nursing histories and evaluates age-appropriate behavior, motor skills, and physiological norms. Develops and modifies individualized care plans, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team. Participates in quality and performance improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes. Educates patients and families on care plans and health management. Communicates patient updates to physicians and other healthcare providers. Maintains proficiency in the use of department systems and equipment. Supervises and coordinates patient transfers and transport logistics. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Ability to effectively deliver patient care while in transport via the confined spaces and unique environment of specialty care ambulance, rotor wing aircraft, and fixed wing aircraft.
• Critical care nursing knowledge.
• Basic computer skills, with the ability to navigate Microsoft Windows based programs.
• Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions, and revise the plan of care according to patient outcomes.
• Familiarity with Cerner is preferred.
• Transport Nursing experience is preferred.
• Certifications in ACLS, PALS, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) are required.

Work Experience:
• 2+ Acute care experience. For this department: A minimum of two years of RN experience which includes 2,000 hours of Neonatal ICU nursing experience.(per Florida State Rule 64J). A minimum of 2,000 hours of combined Pediatric or Pediatric Emergency Department nursing experience. [Required]
• 2+ Critical care experience [Preferred]
• 2+ ED experience [Preferred]
• 2+ Transport RN experience [Preferred]
